Kari Rae Seekins is a Los Angeles based, award winning sound designer and composer. She holds a MFA in Sound Design and Integrated Media from CalArts, and a BFA in Design for the Theatre and Electroacoustic Composition & Music Technology from Concordia University in Montreal.
Her sound designs and compositions have shown in various museums, festivals and theaters throughout the world including Sundance, Slamdance, Comic Con (San Diego), Fernbank Museum of Natural History, The New Zealand International Film Festival, ZKM Museum of Contempary Art, Jeu De Paume and REDCAT. She was recently named one of "The Nine Who Are Changing the AV Industry" by SCN Magazine.
Kari has worked as a sound designer for Google, Thinkwell Group, Cirque Du Soleil, Nickelodeon, RIVA Creative U.S.A., Mycotoo, and the video game company Lantern. She has performed with the Los Angeles Improv Quartet, Pitch Like Masses and was a reoccurring member of the Cabeza De Vaca Archestra. She currently works as freelance sound designer and an adjunct professor at the University of California Irvine.
